Unfortunately, this campground sits below a major interstate and train tracks, so it is noisy! We were disappointed as the check in was not friendly and although we requested a site as far away from the noise as possible, no acknowledgment was given to the request. The check in person seemed disinterested in helping us find a suitable site. They have rented a number of sites out long term to some contractors. This contributed to the noise factor. We have stayed here twice, but will not stay here again.
This is in a remote area of Kansas, about 6 miles north of I-70. It is beautiful and quiet. The sites are fairly level with views of the reservoir. A gem!
This is a well maintained campground, however, if you stay in the upper section,it is like a parking lot..no trees or grass, just side by side gravel sites. And the road noise from 285 is a factor. If you stay in the lower section it is very nice...trees,grass, creek, but there is no way to get a satellite signal. Verizon cell service worked well at this campground.
This a a very clean and well maintained campground. The sites are close together, but each has a concrete picnic area and a grassy little lawn. The sites that back up to the Arkansas River are very nice. The Wi-Fi and satellite availability is very good, however, Verizon Cell service just doesn't work here. They have strict rules about dogs, but it is reasonable. There is a nice forest service road nearby that is a great hiking/dog walking place. The staff is friendly and accommodating. No credit cards though!!! A find!!!
This is a very friendly campground. It is convenient to fishing the South Fork of the Rio Grande (just a very short walk). The campground has a very nice private stretch of river. The sites are very close together. And the cable consists of just a few stations. The sites away from Hwy.160 are better as the road noise is slightly diminished. It is quieter at night. We traveled with our dogs and there is a nice meadow to walk them in.
This is a very dusty campground, however the staff are friendly and helpful. It is right on Hwy 24, so there is some road noise. The sites in back were much quieter. The spaces are close together and I would imagine when it is full, there is very little room between you and your neighbor.
